This is a potato vodka.... and I have to say for under $20 it is the BEST
Made in Idaho, this is how it is done (source www.blueicevodka.com)
Four-column Distillation
In an attempt to remove impurities, most vodka producers employ distillation processes that will inadvertently strip all traces of a vodka’s bouquet and diminish its texture. The result is a tasteless, insipid product.
Blue Ice Vodka is distilled in a four-column apparatus via fractional distillation. This distillation process allows the Master Distiller to control the removal of impurities, such as congeners and fusel oils, while maintaining the delicate flavor profile and rich texture of Blue Ice Vodka.
It has a really soft opening much like Grey Goose or Vox.
It also has a smooth finish much like Kettel One or Chopin.
Here is my favorite recipe for October (get it halloween)
Blue Ice Pumpkin Pie Martini
4 parts Blue Ice Vodka
1 part DaVinci Pumpkin Pie Syrup
Cinnamon Sugar
Add Blue Ice and Pumpkin Pie Syrup to a cocktail shaker, shake well and strain. Garnish with an orange slice and pour into a cocktail glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar.
In the under $20 class this is the winner... Post Comments of others to try...
