OREGON COAST ALBACORE TUNA -

Hello from OUTDOOR CHEF KURT from the ALBACORE TUNA CAPITOL OF OREGON GARIBALDI HARBOR.

In early september I was lucky enough to get invited by CAPTAIN BILL COGDALL of the NORVELLE BOAT MR .LUCKY to an albacore extravaganza.

We sailed out of the jaws of the TILLAMOOK BAY with blue skys but some pretty rough water.

We went south and out for about 25 miles to a spot where the fish had been the week before.I being first mate put out the poles and we started our fast troll , about 6 knots per hour.We didn't have to wait long and we had our first strike and a HOOK UP on what we knew was an albacore tuna.

I got to fight the first fish and what a battle it was.I had never caught a tuna before and I was in awe of the strength of the fish. The fish pulled like it was headed straight for the bottom. When we gaffed it and pulled it in I was happy as a clam in melted butter.I was as proud of that fish as anything I had done in my whole life.

We fished in the rough water for several hours and ended up with 26 beautiful tuna a great catch for the conditions that day .The rough and long ride in was a joy reflecting on the days fun . Our arms were tired but our spirits soared like an eagle.

I was thinking of all the ways I could prepare my catch with my CAMP CHEF PRODUCTS from.deep fried tuna in my cooker to smoked tuna in my SMOKE VAULT smoker to grilled in my CAMP CHEF GRILL BOX on my CAMP CHEF 3 burner stove to baked in my new CAMP CHEF OUTDOOR OVEN STOVE COMBO.

Happy Cooking to all from OUTDOOR CHEF KURT
